Many years ago, I watched this episode of A Cook’s Tour with Anthony Bourdain which featured The French Laundry. His unbridled enthusiasm for the coffee custard infused with tobacco made me want to go to this heavenly restaurant nestled in Napa Valley. Reading about the restaurant in this article reignited my dream to one day dine there (even though it takes an eternity to get reservations). I’m not a huge lover of scallops but the picture in the article made my mouth water and so I had to draw it. I illustrated the dinosaur because I tend to attack my plate like a T-Rex fighting to stay alive. This custard may not be on the menu when I visit The French Laundry, but I have a feeling the other items on the menu will suffice.
